And Man said: It's dark: turn on the lights. Tired: rest. Hungry: eat. Thirsty: drink. Must cross river: build boat.
It was with this kind of logic and reason that led man to cultivate civilization. And our propensity to ask questions and search for answers is the driving force behind our desire to keep advancing after having pointlessly called out into existence.
But one day somebody asked; " Huhu why did you shoot my brother, Dylan? "
A reasonable, valid question to which Dylan answered:
"Fuck you! You don't tell me what to do I shoot whoever the fuck I want your brother's a dick y'all be shot in the face stupid fags like you, y'all be dead fuck you!"
Such moments when logic has failed you marks a tragic decline of human intelligence, leaving the bones of our Greek ancestors, super-disappointed. Equally maddening for me is this:
TYPICAL COLLEGE JOE: "Where was god when the earthquake struck? All those people who died were good, but why would god punish them? Does god even exist?"
CHURCH OF CHRIST SARAH: "You must trust in the lord our God, God exists in your heart because He loves you and He is merciful and good. Blessed is he who comes in God's name, for he will be saved."
Which is no different from:
Q: "Where's my pen?"
A: "It's raining, I love grapes."
It is nothing but disastrous to witness such fallacies transpire in a human conversation. Yes, science and Christianity have been opposing each other since time immemorial, but believing in God does not give one permission to collapse logic and go bible assault on everything, no more than a scientist is allowed to appreciate beauty and other non-physical concepts.
I am a believer in a God that exists in the spirituality achieved in art, music and beauty. But when someone asks me to "pray" for him so he could pass the exam, I am compelled to respond: "How about...just...study hard! Or if I'm an expert on said field I'd be glad to help you study."
